MISSOURI’S CIVIL WAR HERITAGE FOUNDATION PARTICIPATES IN INTERNATIONAL ARCHAEOLOGY DAY

Last month, our Programs Director, Caitlin O’Leary, brought Missouri’s Civil War Heritage Foundation to a local celebration of The Archaeological Institute of America’s International Archaeology Day at the U.S. Grant National Historic Site. Beautiful October weather brought dozens of visitors to the site. They were then not only able to enjoy a tour of White Haven, but also learn about archaeology.

In attendance were local archaeologists who shared their enthusiasm for history, archaeology, and anthropology with visitors. MCWHF handed out trail maps, spoke about their latest dig of the Battle of Moore’s Mill, and discussed hopes for more excursions in the near future.
