Missouri’s first Civil War driving trail opened on May 20, 2006, with grand opening events at three locations. Missouri’s Civil War Heritage Foundation sponsored the events, at Danville, Kingdom City and Centralia, each of which featured the dedication of one of the Foundation’s educational panels. Congressman Kenny Hulshof gave the keynote address at the first of these events, at the Danville Female Academy site in Danville.
